This is a series I have been developing for many years, inspired by seasonal changes noticed both while on walks in the outdoors as well as within my own very small plant pot garden. 

The Small Gardener is a very experienced plant veteran, one who roams a large and rather wild patch of land, keeping an eye out to preserve a careful balance and living in harmony with the seasons.

The illustrations are inked with dip pen and then hand painted in watercolour.

Small Gardener Diaries

This series has evolved new characters since I first started, including a slightly scrappy rookie gardener taking care of a small yet leafy urban plant pot patch, their wildlife visitors, and their intimidating neighbour.

This Small Gardener is still learning their craft and trying to not wilt under the baleful glares of their judgey neighbour, who has a different (much neater) approach to their garden.

They find that journaling as they go really helps, and this has resulted in the mini comic series Small Gardener Diaries.
